Connect & Activate

1. Locate your activation code in the welcome e‑mail from Clover.

2. Peel the protective film from the screen.

3. Press the power button (right edge) until the Clover logo appears.

4. Select your language and tap Next.

5. Choose a network:
      • Mobile – uses the installed SIM and cellular data.
      • Wi‑Fi – connects to a secure WPA/WPA2 network you provide.
      (If you offer guest Wi‑Fi, place the terminal on a separate, password‑protected network.)

6. Wait for the Connected message, then tap Next.

7. Enter the activation code, tap Activate, and let the device download the latest apps.

Accepting Payments

• Dip EMV cards in the chip slot.
• Swipe magnetic‑stripe cards along the side groove.
• Tap NFC cards or mobile wallets on the contactless symbol.
Transactions and receipts appear on the display instantly.

Security & Everyday Functions

Barcode scanner – Press the trigger (left side) to scan UPCs.

Physical security – Loop a Kensington‑style cable through the anti‑theft slot to anchor the unit.

Audio / alerts – Built‑in speakers handle notifications; plug an external speaker into the 3.5 mm jack for louder environments (Settings ▸ Notification Settings).

Replace receipt paper

1. Pop open the paper door on top.

2. Drop in a roll with paper feeding up and out.

3. Close the door and print a test receipt.

Replacing the SIM card

1. Open the paper bay and loosen the two green‑arrow screws with the supplied driver.

2. Gently lift the cover and remove the SIM with tweezers.
   The device serial number is printed inside this compartment.

Power & Charging

Charging cradle

1. Plug the power cord into the cradle, then into the brick, then the wall.

2. Set the Flex on the cradle; a battery icon confirms charging.

Travel charger

1. Use the USB‑C port with the optional Clover travel adapter when you’re on the move.

Staff Access (Employees App)

• Create, edit, or delete staff profiles, each with a unique passcode.
• Add employee PINs under the employee profile and follow the on‑screen prompts.
• Once configured, each employee can use their assigned PIN to login to the device and begin working.

Daily Controls

• Power on – Hold the power button until the Clover logo shows.
• Power off – Hold the power button and confirm.
• Sleep / wake – Tap the power button once.

Rebooting

• Soft reboot – Swipe down from the top‑right corner, tap Reboot, then confirm.
• Hard reboot – Disconnect power, hold the power button for 32 seconds, release, then press again until the logo appears. Re‑attach power and enter your passcode when prompted.
