Clover® Devices & Accessories

What’s in the package

• Clover Mini countertop POS terminal
• Power adapter & power cord
• Quick-Start guide & documentation
• Cash drawer & cables (if bundled)

Connect & Activate

  1. Place your Clover Mini on your countertop near power and network access.

  2. Plug the power cord into the Mini and then into a wall outlet.

  3. Connect to the internet:
    Ethernet — plug a network cable from your router/switch into the Mini.
    Wi-Fi — use the on-screen setup to join your secure WPA/WPA2 network.
    (Optional LTE/4G versions connect via built-in cellular for locations without wired internet.)

  4. Power on the Mini — the Clover logo will appear as it boots.

  5. Follow on-screen prompts to select language, enter network info, and input your activation code (found in your Clover welcome email).

  6. Let the device download the latest software updates and apps from the Clover App Market.

Accepting Payments

Dip EMV cards — insert chip cards into the integrated chip reader.
Swipe magnetic-stripe cards — swipe along the built-in MSR reader.
Tap contactless cards or digital wallets — tap NFC cards/mobile wallets on the contactless symbol.
PIN debit — customers can enter PINs via the touchscreen when supported.
PIN & signature options are directed on screen or on printed receipts.
Transactions and receipts appear immediately on the display and can be printed or sent digitally.

Security & Everyday Functions

Integrated touchscreen & printing — 8″ color LCD touch display with built-in thermal receipt printer.
Barcode scanning — front facing camera supports 1D/2D scanning for UPCs and QR codes.
Connectivity — Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and optional LTE/4G data connectivity keep you online.
Security — PCI-compliant encryption and hardened Android OS protect payment data.
Ports & expansion — USB ports for peripherals and an RJ12 port for an optional cash drawer.

Replace Receipt Paper

  1. Lift the printer cover on the Mini.

  2. Insert a new thermal paper roll with the paper feeding up and out toward you.

  3. Close the cover and print a test receipt to confirm correct feeding.

Power & Network

AC Power — Plug the included adapter into the Mini and then into the wall.

Network
Ethernet — wired connection for reliable communications.
Wi-Fi — set up through on-screen network settings.
LTE/4G — cellular connectivity available on select models for flexible placements without wired internet.

Staff Access (Employees App)

• Create, edit, and delete staff profiles with unique passcodes.
• Assign employee PINs for fast, secure login.
• Each staff member logs in via their assigned PIN when starting their shift.
• Permissions and roles can be configured in the Employees app to control access.

Daily Controls

Power on — With AC power connected, the Mini boots automatically.
Sleep / wake — Tap the power button or screen to wake from sleep.
Screen navigation — Touch gestures and taps navigate Clover apps and menus.

Rebooting

Soft reboot — Use the on-screen settings menu to Restart the device.
Hard reboot — Disconnect power for ~10–15 seconds, reconnect, and allow the Clover logo to appear.
